Yesterday we were having breakfast and V said to me, 

There is a connection from the brain to the tummy when you eat. 

So if you’re anxious, troubled or angry, it goes to your tummy. 

That can make your food harder to digest.

For this reason, when he was little, they were taught to eat in silence. 

No emotional conversations, no aggressive TV episodes, no distractions. 

When I first met him, we used to laugh about how we’d be the best restaurant customers. 

In and out in 30 minutes. 

Now I see the merit in a calm conversation or even silence at a meal.
